Namaste! My name is Carla and I am an archaeologist interested in exploring past people knowledge of plants. I want to understand how people exploited plants both as food resources but also for making fire, build houses, make tools and art objects. And most importantly, how exploitation of plants in the past has impacted on the natural environment and has led to phenomena like deforestation, extinction of species, change in the vegetation etc.
Recommend a book and a popular-science website. A fantastic book: The fabric of reality by David Deutsch. And a Website: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/
Recommend a museum or a divulgation centre. The Museu d’Història de la Ciutat, in Barcelona
I decided to become a scientist: because I love challenges and I am terribly curious!
First thing I do when I get home is: turn the music on, get myself comfortable in slippers and training suit and pour a glass of wine.
A book that cannot be missing in my library: two very different genres: I am an avid reader and can read almost everything. Never missing from my library some romantic Novel (Jane Austin, the Bronte sisters etc) and some fantasy (Tolkien, Robert Jordan,….)
My favourite place to get lost is: Parc Güell en Barcelona.
Nothing chills me more than: a long walk with a good friends, talking or simply admiring the surrounding landscape in silence
A trip that I loved was: Northern Scotland and the highlands. Small hidden lakes and great pubs!
A lifetime dream would be: to tour the world.
